Support the American West Center
Now in its fifth decade, the Center continues be a vibrant part of the University of Utah. Among the highlights for 2007-2008 are
- continue our ongoing veterans and Native American oral history projects
- begin to build a state-of-the-art digital archives for materials related to Utah's Indian tribes, in collaboration with the Special Collections division of the Marriott Library
- launch several new oral history projects, including:
Utah Outdoor Recreation, in partnership with the Special Collections division of the Marriott Library
Utah Environmentalists, in partnership with the Environmental Humanities program
Utah Business History, in partnership with the David Eccles School of Business- produce an International Westerns Film Festival, in a partnership with the Salt Lake Film Society
- host a conference on the Pacific Worlds and the American West
- begin to build a digital archives for Utah's Pacific Islander community
- continue our popular Tertulia workshops for graduate students studying the American West
